Getting around CUR
Curaçao is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and its only airport carries that dual identity into the terminal itself: a single 18,000 sqm building with six boarding bridges, opened in late 2018 under the names Curaçao International Airport and, before that, "Hato" or Dr. Albert Plesman Luchthaven. Curaçao Airport Partners has run it under a 30-year concession since 2003, on behalf of the government-owned Curaçao Airport Holding. 2025 was the record year — 2,461,000 passenger movements, up 17% on 2024 — with Europe, led by the Netherlands, still the largest single market at a third of all traffic, ahead of a US segment at 22% and a South American one growing fast enough to add a new year-round Lima route. Every departing passenger clears the same sequence regardless of where they are flying: eight self-service kiosks and a QR boarding-pass reader before Immigration, a 100 ml liquids rule at Security, and, on arrival, an optional fast-track Curaçao Express Pass through passport control. The airport prices its own parking and services in XCG, the guilder that also settles accounts on Sint Maarten.
