Getting around LHR
Heathrow spreads its four terminals — 2, 3, 4 and 5 — across a site so large that Terminal 5 has its own separate access road off the M25. Your airline decides where you go: the official finder puts British Airways and Iberia in Terminal 5, Virgin Atlantic and most US carriers in Terminal 3, Qatar Airways, KLM and Air France in Terminal 4, and Lufthansa, United and Singapore Airlines in Terminal 2. Only BA splits across two (a share of its flights leave from T3). Moving between terminals costs nothing: Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express trains carry you free inside the airport — tap contactless or pick up a zero-fare transfer ticket at the machines — and the H30 bus links T4 with T5 at no charge. With 84.5 million passengers in 2025, this is the busiest airport in the CAA’s UK table by a factor of two.
