No passport is required within the Common Travel Area — between the Isle of Man, the UK, Jersey, Guernsey and Ireland — but you still need to satisfy your airline’s own photo-ID policy, so check before you travel. From 23 April 2026, a separate rule applies to anyone arriving directly from OUTSIDE the CTA or the Republic of Ireland: most non-visa nationals staying up to six months need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), applied for in advance and linked to the passport for two years. British and Irish citizens travelling on their own passports are exempt, and an Isle of Man variant passport counts as a British one.
