Getting around JER
Jersey Airport is the only airport on a nine-by-five-mile Channel Island, run by Ports of Jersey rather than any UK authority — the island sits inside the Common Travel Area, so there are no routine border checks arriving from the UK, though an Electronic Travel Authorisation may apply from 23 April 2026. A single terminal building, opened in 1937 and extended since, handled 1,443,769 passengers in 2025 across 47 destinations and 15 airlines. That year also brought disruption: the collapse of Blue Islands in late autumn cut established routes, and Loganair stepped in alongside new partners Jet2 and KLM to hold the network together. There is no railway on the island — LibertyBus route 15 is the workhorse into St Helier, and a new No1 Lounge opened on the first floor as part of the ongoing Airport Modernisation Project.
