Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Keflavík Airport Terminal

One terminal building — Flugstöð Leifs Eiríkssonar — carries the whole airport, split into three gate zones. A and C serve Schengen Europe; D, in the South building, serves everywhere outside Schengen, including the US, UK and Canada. Because the airport is compact, the airport itself describes its transfer times as “among the shortest in Europe”.

Check-in

Arrive 2.5 to 3 hours before your flight. Round-the-clock kiosks let you self-check-in inside the check-in hall, next to the staffed desks.

Security

Liquids: 100 ml per container, 1 litre total, in a transparent zip bag. Fast Track through security can be booked in advance.

Changing terminals

Your point of origin and destination decide the gate, not your airline: Schengen-to-Schengen routes use A or C, anything touching the US, UK or Canada uses D — and connecting between a Schengen and a non-Schengen flight means going through passport control.

Accessibility

Notify your airline of PRM needs no fewer than 48 hours ahead of your scheduled departure. The Service Desk in the departure hall is open daily 04:00–23:00, an eagle lift (hoist) is available for boarding, and Sunflower lanyards for hidden disabilities are handed out at check-in desks and the arrivals information desk — no booking needed.
