Getting around LJU
Ljubljana Airport is operated by Fraport Slovenija, a subsidiary of the German airport group Fraport AG, which bought 75.5% of what was then Aerodrom Ljubljana in September 2014 and reached full ownership in 2015 — the company took the Fraport Slovenija name in 2017. Its single passenger terminal, officially named Terminal A, is new: it opened in July 2021, its first flight leaving for Antalya, and has carried more than 6.4 million passengers since. There is no railway or tram link to the airport — buses, taxis, airport shuttles and rental cars are the only ways in, and several of those ground-transport services (the taxi rank, the shuttle ticket desk, rental-car pickup) run out of the airport’s other building, Terminal B. Traffic has grown every year since the terminal opened, reaching 1.6 million passengers in 2025 across 30 direct routes flown by 24 airlines.
