One shaded building holds the whole airport: Aena assigns all 45 airlines on its official list to the same terminal code, and the outline mapped here is the only one OpenStreetMap tags as `aeroway=terminal`. It sits directly on the GC-1 highway, with P1 marked right at the doors and P2 Long Stay a four-minute walk further out, under a 2.10-metre height limit. What the map does not label but the runways either side make plain is that Gran Canaria operates two parallel strips — 03L/21R and 03R/21L, both 3,100 metres of asphalt — a configuration Aena has kept the airport open on, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, crediting the islands’ own weather rather than a backup runway. The airport sits 18 km from Las Palmas, the island’s capital, and 25 km from the main resort area on Gran Canaria’s south coast.

The shaded buildings are the terminals as they operate today, with names verified by us — the base map’s own labels can lag behind reality. Blue P squares mark the official car parks that publish a name; the dark square is the station.
