Ireland West Airport has carried every passenger through one terminal building since it opened in 1986. Aer Lingus and Ryanair run the year-round schedule to 20-plus UK and European destinations — including a daily Aer Lingus service to London Heathrow — and Joe Walsh Tours and Marian Pilgrimages add seasonal pilgrim charters to Lourdes and Medjugorje through the same hall.
All check-in for Aer Lingus and Ryanair is in the one main-terminal hall; both airlines offer online check-in, so carry-on-only passengers can head straight to security with a digital or printed boarding pass.
The old 100ml liquids limit no longer applies at Knock: containers of up to 2 litres of liquids, gels and aerosols can now travel in carry-on baggage, with no clear resealable bag required and no limit on how many you carry. Arrive at least 2 hours before departure if checking a bag, or 90 minutes with carry-on only.
Knock never built a rail line of its own. Claremorris (about 31km away) and Ballyhaunis (about 22km away) sit on the Dublin Heuston–Westport line and are the closest mainline stops; Bus Éireann's Expressway Route 64 links both to the terminal in around 25–30 minutes.
Give the airline 48 hours' notice of any reduced-mobility need before flying, then look for the designated meeting point — a call button in the car park, or the Customer Information Desk in the main terminal. A Changing Places facility sits beside the XL Shop, and the World Health Organisation named Ireland West the world's first Age Friendly airport back in June 2022; it was also the first in Ireland to sign up to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network, in 2023, with free lanyards handed out at Customer Information. PRM/Blue Badge parking sits directly in front of the terminal at the standard rate — no premium and no discount either way.
