Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Main Terminal

Eleven scheduled carriers share Aberdeen’s one passenger terminal, official count from the airport itself: “1 passenger terminal, 1 offshore fixed-wing terminal plus 3 helicopter terminals.” The offshore side is what sets Aberdeen apart — Bristow, CHC, NHV and OHS fly crews out to North Sea platforms from their own terminals beside the main building, and Loganair, SAS and Wideroe offer loyalty-scheme perks aimed at oil-and-gas commuters.

Check-in

Check-in is to the left as you come through the main entrance; British Airways uses desks 21–24 straight ahead. Allow at least two hours for international departures, one and a half for the UK and Ireland — the terminal itself opens at 03:30 and stays open until the last flight movement. SAS, Wideroe, Air France and KLM passengers can use self-service kiosks near the check-in desks.

Security

Liquids in cabin baggage are capped at 100ml to clear the checkpoint. Priority Parking includes complimentary Priority Security access for the whole travelling party (maximum two entries per car) for passengers who want to skip the regular queue.

From the train & tram station

There is no railway station at the terminal. Dyce, on the Aberdeen–Elgin–Inverness line, is about two miles away and unstaffed — buy tickets at the machine or online before travelling. From Dyce it is a ten-minute ScotRail journey into Aberdeen station.

Accessibility

The assistance team can be reached by email, and video guides come with subtitles and BSL. Wheelchair-accessible taxis can be pre-booked, local buses are low-floor, and most trains from Dyce are accessible with platform help arranged through ScotRail. Blue Badge holders get a 30-minute free window in the Short Stay car park, validated at the Customer Service Office, and an assistance telephone sits at the front of the multi-storey car park.
