One building carries the whole operation at Aldergrove, 18 miles north-west of Belfast, and the airport itself publishes the internal geography in metres: 115 from the Drop Off Zone to Check In, 120 more to security, and up to 660 to the farthest gate. Outside the doors everything clusters within a few minutes: the Drop Off Zone faces the terminal, Translink’s 300 leaves from the front of the building, the Coach Park where Aircoach boards for Derry and Dublin hides behind the taxi rank, and the Main, Short Stay, Premium and Long Stay car parks are all a 3–4 minute walk. The Maldron hotel stands 50 feet from the entrance. What you will not find on this map is a railway: the closest trains call at Antrim, a 109A bus ride away.
