George Best Belfast City sits on the Sydenham Bypass inside Belfast itself — the airport puts the city centre five minutes away and claims one of the shortest security averages in the UK, around six minutes. It is small by design: 2.36 million passengers in 2025 per the CAA, five scheduled airlines sharing one terminal, and a planning cap that keeps scheduled flights between 06:30 and 21:30. Downtown is a Translink 600 bus ride to Grand Central Station, an NI Railways train from Sydenham halt over its footbridge, or a Value Cabs taxi from the rank at the door — City Hall in roughly ten minutes. Do not confuse it with Belfast International: they are separate airports.
