Getting around BLR
Kempegowda International closed Calendar Year 2024 with more than 40.7 million passengers, the busiest airport in South India and the country’s third largest. Two terminals split the schedule cleanly: Terminal 1 keeps every domestic carrier that hasn’t moved to T2 — IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air and Fly91 — while Terminal 2 carries all international flights plus four domestic airlines (Air India, Air India Express, Star Air and Alliance Air). T2 is built as a "Terminal in a Garden", with over 6 lakh plants under automated irrigation and a 5-Star Skytrax rating, the first in India. A free shuttle links the two buildings — about 600 metres apart — every 10 minutes. Getting into the city means the BMTC Vayu Vajra AC bus, the official KSTDC taxi (including a women-only Pink Taxi fleet), or an app-based ride: there is no railway or metro station at the airport today.
