Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Terminal 1

The original terminal handles every domestic carrier that hasn’t moved to T2: IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air and Fly91, by the airport’s own airline list. It keeps the BMTC and KSRTC bus zone, the KSTDC taxi rank (including the women-only Pink Taxi fleet, stationed near Hatti Kaapi in Arrivals), and an 080 Transit Hotel and 080 Lounge of its own — the domestic lounge spans 12 themed zones.

Changing terminals

A complimentary shuttle to Terminal 2 runs every 10 minutes, taking about 10 minutes to cover the roughly 600 metres between the two buildings. At T1 it picks up from the inner VIP lane in the Departure Zone next to the Relay outlet, and from the kerbside near Arrivals by the Aster Clinic.

Accessibility

Concierge and porter services meet senior citizens, children and passengers with reduced mobility at a kiosk on the kerb and escort them to check-in. Wheelchair assistance is booked through the airline; complimentary buggy service is available in both the arrival and departure zones for those with infants, older travellers or reduced mobility.

Terminal 2

Built as a "Terminal in a Garden", T2 carries every international flight — all scheduled international arrivals and departures moved here from 10:45am on 12 September 2023 — plus four domestic carriers: Air India, Air India Express, Star Air and Alliance Air. Domestic T2 operations began on 15 January 2023, with Air India’s domestic flights following from 31 August 2023. The building is LEED Platinum pre-certified, runs on 100% renewable energy across the BIAL campus, and became the first airport in India to receive Skytrax’s 5-Star rating.

Check-in

End-to-end Digi Yatra biometric check-in is available for passengers on domestic sectors, alongside self-baggage-drop kiosks and automatic tray-retrieval lanes at security.

Security

Full-body scanners and automatic tray retrieval keep processing moving; self-bag-drop is enabled for a long list of carriers including Air India, Air India Express, Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar, Singapore Airlines and Etihad, completing check-in in as little as 45 seconds.

Changing terminals

The free inter-terminal shuttle to T1 runs every 10 minutes (about 10 minutes each way, roughly 600 metres apart). At T2 it picks up from P16/P17 in the Arrivals Zone or Gate 3 in the Departure Zone.

Accessibility

Senior-citizen and reduced-mobility drop-off sits in the inner departure lane, with pick-up at the inner arrivals lane; complimentary buggy service and wheelchair assistance (booked through the airline) are both available.
