Getting around BUD
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport runs on a single passenger terminal split into two wings: Terminal 2A, on the Schengen side, and Terminal 2B, reached only after passport control for non-Schengen flights — the SkyCourt building connects them on the mezzanine level. Check-in counters for both wings sit on the departure level and usually open two hours before departure, closing 30 minutes ahead (40 for low-cost carriers). The 100E Airport Express bus is the direct link to the city centre, with stops between the two terminals on the arrivals level — but it takes a dedicated ticket bought on board, not a regular Budapest public-transport ticket. In 2024 the airport handled a record 17.6 million passengers with 43 airlines flying to 141 destinations.
