Lufthansa Group’s self-service bag-drop kiosks are in check-in area 100 of Terminal 1. Other airlines use standard desks — confirm your check-in area with your airline.

The airport’s central security checkpoint is in the middle of Terminal 1, serving passengers from both terminals. A free time slot can be booked online with CGNGateWay up to 100 days ahead.

The airport’s own ICE railway station, opened in 2004 alongside Terminal 1’s Starwalk, sits within walking distance of both terminals; S-Bahn, regional and bus lines call around the clock.

The Uber pick-up lane sits between the two terminals. Car hire is handled centrally on Terminal 2’s car-hire level, whichever terminal you land at.

The German Red Cross meets and escorts passengers with reduced mobility on the airport’s behalf, free of charge, if the airline is told at least 48 hours ahead. A rental wheelchair before security is available at the Red Cross point on Terminal 1, Staircase 6, Level 0; after security, wheelchairs wait at Gate C72.
