Cardiff Airport runs entirely from one terminal building in the Vale of Glamorgan, 13 miles and a run down the M4 from the Welsh capital. Only 3 of its 17 aircraft stands carry a jet bridge, so boarding on foot across the apron is the norm rather than the exception. Passengers reach the rail network aboard the hourly 905 shuttle bus, which meets every train at Rhoose Cardiff International Airport station, and since February 2026 the terminal’s Next Generation Security scanners let liquids under 100 ml and every electronic item stay packed inside hand luggage. In 2025 the airport handled 958,011 passengers, up 9.5% on the year before.
