Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Pier A

Pier A is where the airport sends Lufthansa Group travellers: its own page states plainly that “all flights of the Lufthansa Group are easily reached” from the Business and Senator Lounges on the gallery level here. It is also where Eurowings passengers flying to Berlin or Hamburg find the dedicated “WINGS express” lane at the security checkpoint.

Check-in

Check-in generally opens at 3:30 a.m.; Condor and Eurowings passengers get an earlier 3:00 a.m. start (in effect through 25 October 2026).

Security

Checkpoint “Gates A” opens at 3:00 a.m.

From the train & tram station

The SkyTrain’s “Terminal A/B” stop is about seven minutes from Düsseldorf Flughafen, the long-distance station on the east side of the airport grounds — that station alone handles “more than 350 trains… from S-Bahns… to ICEs” a day.

Changing terminals

The three piers share transfer corridors, so any of the three security checkpoints reaches every departure gate.

Accessibility

The contractor Klüh runs mobility assistance on-site; notify your airline of what you need at least 48 hours out, then arrive two hours early to confirm with the PRM Service Team.

Pier B

Pier B is the middle pier and the one built for speed: the free DUSgateway service reserves a personal security slot with “exclusive access at ‘Gates B’”, and — booking or not — “a priority lane (fast lane) is permanently available” at that same checkpoint. The DUS Rhein Lounge is here too.

Security

Checkpoint “Gates B” opens at 3:00 a.m. and is the only one of the three with a standing priority lane plus DUSgateway’s bookable slot (up to 5 passengers per booking).

From the train & tram station

Same SkyTrain stop as Pier A — “Terminal A/B” — about seven minutes from the long-distance Düsseldorf Flughafen station and two minutes from car parks P4/P5.

Changing terminals

Reached from Pier A or C through the shared security-side transfer corridors described on the airport’s own transferring page.

Accessibility

Klüh staff handle mobility assistance across all three piers; tell your airline what support you need 48 hours before flying, and be at the PRM desk two hours before departure.

Pier C

Pier C is Düsseldorf’s non-Schengen pier: the Emirates Lounge sits “in Pier C, Non-Schengen”, next to the DUS Sky Lounge and a Muslim prayer room in the security area. From 1 July 2026 its checkpoint opens half an hour later than the other two.

Security

Checkpoint “Gates C” opens at 3:00 a.m. up to 30 June 2026; from 1 July 2026 it opens at 3:30 a.m. instead (with a 3:00 a.m. exception for 17–20 July). Underground garage P8, right next to Arrivals Hall C, is a two-minute walk away.

From the train & tram station

The SkyTrain’s own “Terminal C” stop is about seven minutes from Düsseldorf Flughafen; the S-Bahn-only “Düsseldorf Airport Terminal” station, served solely by the S11, sits in the basement of the terminal building — no monorail needed to reach it.

Changing terminals

Connected to Piers A and B by the shared transfer corridors described on the airport’s own transferring page.

Accessibility

Mobility support is contracted out to Klüh; give your airline 48 hours’ notice of what you need, and check in with the PRM Service Team two hours ahead of your flight.
