Getting around EMA
East Midlands is a small passenger airport with a giant’s shadow: five scheduled airlines — Aer Lingus, Jet2.com, Ryanair, Loganair and TUI — share the single terminal by day, while overnight the same airfield runs as the UK’s number one express air freight hub, with DHL, UPS and FedEx flying their UK networks out of it. There is no railway station: the Skylink bus network, run by Trent Barton, reaches Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Loughborough, and four mainline stations sit within a short ride. Security here still runs the older 100ml liquids limit rather than the newer 2-litre rule some UK airports have adopted. The airport sits minutes from the M1, with the postcode DE74 2SA getting a sat-nav there directly.
