Getting around GLA
Glasgow Airport opened in 1966 and is the only airport in Scotland with direct motorway access, off Junctions 28 and 29 of the M8 — do not confuse it with Glasgow Prestwick (PIK), a separate airport further south that does have its own railway station. Glasgow has none: the Glasgow Airport Express 500 bus is the real link into the city, running 24 hours a day, every 10 minutes, in as little as 15 minutes to stops near both Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations. Everyone boards from the one main terminal — the second building, T2, only handles check-in for some Jet2.com passengers. In 2025 the airport handled 8.2 million passengers, up 1.7% on 2024.
Into the city
The Express 500 runs 24/7, every 10 minutes, reaching the centre in 15 minutes — no train station on site.

Choose from the Terminal Multi-Storey, Priority, Valet, Mid Stay or Long Stay — and skip the £7 drop-off charge if you can wait at Long Stay instead.
