Why is it called Teesside International Airport again?

The airport has changed name and owner more than once. It opened to the public in 1964 as Tees-side Airport, was bought by the private company Peel in 2002 and rebranded Durham Tees Valley Airport in 2004. In 2019 the Tees Valley Combined Authority voted to bring it back into public ownership, and that July it recovered its original name, Teesside International Airport.
