Getting around MXP
Malpensa is Italy’s second-busiest airport, operated by SEA — the same group behind Milan’s other city airport, Linate. A third, Bergamo Orio al Serio, also serves the region but sits outside SEA, so double-check a booking or transfer says Malpensa (MXP) before you travel. Its two buildings, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, stand apart, linked by a free shuttle bus and by the Malpensa Express itself, which covers the T1-T2 hop in a few minutes for €2. That Express is the only rail line into the airport, splitting into two branches — one to Milano Centrale, the other to Milano Cadorna in the city centre — each running every 30 minutes for a €15 ticket. Terminal 2 has been EasyJet’s dedicated home since reopening on 31 May 2023, after closing during the pandemic. In 2025 the airport handled 31.2 million passengers, according to ENAC.
