Getting around NQY
Cornwall Airport Newquay sits at St Mawgan, a few miles outside Newquay and reachable via the A3059 — the address it still shares with the former RAF St Mawgan, whose runway now carries commercial airline traffic alongside military exercises, Coastguard search-and-rescue and air ambulance flights. One thing it no longer charges: the airport’s own Airport Development Fee, which ceased in March 2016, unlike some other regional UK airports that still add one at departure. The single terminal handled 394,307 passengers in 2025, according to the UK Civil Aviation Authority. The airport also shares its runway with Spaceport Cornwall, the UK’s first licensed spaceport, which flew its first horizontal launch in 2023 — a rare neighbour for a regional terminal check-in desk.
