Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Terminal

The current building opened in August 2006, replacing a terminal that had served Cork for over 40 years. It covers 28,300 sq. metres, with 30 check-in desks and five baggage belts (three inbound, two outbound) — built for up to five million passengers a year, a ceiling the airport is now approaching after carrying 3.46 million in 2025.

Check-in

Aer Lingus and Ryanair anchor the schedule, alongside Air France, KLM, Lufthansa and SWISS on their hub routes, plus seasonal carriers like SunExpress. All 30 check-in desks sit in the one hall — there is no second building to confuse with this one.

Security

The 100ml liquids, gels and pastes rule still applies at Cork — the next-generation scanners that would lift it are being built into a new, bigger screening area as part of a €200m capital programme, due to finish in December 2026. Arrive at least 90 minutes before a scheduled flight, or 2 hours 30 minutes before a charter.

From the train & tram station

Cork built no rail link of its own: Kent Station in Cork city is reached by taxi from the rank in front of the terminal (about €20) or by the Bus Éireann stop at the same spot — Kent Station itself sits a 10-minute walk from the Parnell Place bus station.

Accessibility

Passengers with reduced mobility should give their airline, travel agent or tour operator 48 hours’ notice before flying; OCS runs the service on the ground. Designated arrival/departure points sit at the Short-Term car park (Level 1 lift lobby), Express Red car park, the PRM set-down area outside, and a PRM reception desk in the main hall — with reserved parking for Blue Disability Permit holders, the scheme Ireland actually uses.
