Departures Terminal

The building opened in November 2012, which the airport itself says doubled processing capacity — 104 check-in counters and 38 gates (14 with jet bridges, 24 remote) across the airport’s two terminals combined. This is also where the Business Class Lounges and the restricted-access Official (VIP) Lounge sit.

Check-in

Self check-in machines serve TAROM, Air France, British Airways, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, LOT, Aegean and Scandinavian Airlines — checked bags still go to a separate “Drop-off” counter. Everyone else checks in at the desk shown on the departures screens.

Changing terminals

A connecting corridor to the Arrivals Terminal has linked the two buildings since October 2005 — the airport’s own history page dates it precisely.

Accessibility

Terminal doors are automatic; wide lifts with low-mounted control panels serve every level, and mobile platforms cover anywhere a lift can’t reach — ask ground handling or your airline’s staff. The car park has a signed access ramp into this terminal for reduced-mobility passengers.

Arrivals Terminal

Where every flight lands, whatever the airline — baggage claim, the Lost & Found desks (TAROM’s runs non-stop) and the touch-screen taxi kiosks are all here, on the building’s ground and first floors.

From the train & tram station

The public bus stop for the 100 Express line sits right in front of this terminal, and the airport’s own dispatch office for short-stay parking is on the walkway linking it to Departures, across from the BRD bank branch.

Accessibility

The public car park serving this terminal is fitted with lifts, and the terminal’s entrance doors are automatic.
