Getting around PMO
Palermo’s airport carries the name Falcone Borsellino in memory of the two anti-mafia judges murdered by the Sicilian Mafia in 1992 — a plaque with their portraits sits by one of the terminal’s main entrances. GESAP S.p.A. runs a single terminal building: departures, security, the Fast Track lane and the Prima Vista Lounge are all on the 1st floor, arrivals and the bus stops on the ground floor, and the railway station is built into the basement, with a daily service to Palermo. Driving in, the whole airport site sits inside a camera-monitored Controlled Traffic Zone (ZTC) — even the free 15-minute Kiss & Fly drop-off is timed and fined if you overstay. In 2025 the airport handled 9,203,622 passengers, up 3.37% on 2024.
