Getting around PRG
Václav Havel Airport Prague was completed as Prague–Ruzyně on 1 March 1937, with flights starting four days later, and was officially renamed after the playwright and first Czech president on 5 October 2012, the anniversary of his birth. It has two passenger terminals sorted by where the flight goes rather than who operates it: Terminal 1 handles every flight outside the Schengen Area, Terminal 2 every flight inside it. A third building, Terminal 3 — the former South Terminal — serves private flights and foreign delegations. There is no train station or metro line built into the airport: local buses 59 and 100 connect the terminals to the Veleslavín and Zličín metro stations, and the separate Airport Express bus is the only link to Prague’s Main Railway Station and the national rail network. In 2025 the airport handled 17,750,528 passengers, an all-time record.
