Punta Cana is the Dominican Republic’s busiest airport and the second-busiest in the Caribbean, with more than 7.6 million international passengers arriving each year through its two open-air, cana-roofed terminals, A and B. It is privately owned and operated by Corporación Aeroportuaria del Este, part of Puntacana Resort & Club. Your terminal is assigned per flight rather than fixed per airline — check your booking. Before you fly in either direction, every passenger must complete the Dominican Republic’s free digital E-Ticket (the tourist card itself is already included in your plane ticket), and ground transport is dominated by hotel transfers, authorised taxis and eleven rental-car agencies.
