Passenger Terminal
The country’s only passenger terminal, expanded in 2022 with five new gate lounges and six jet bridges — and now paired with a separate, US$50-million Terminal de Llegadas that opened in 2025-2026 for every arriving passenger. CEPA describes the airport as a “HUB” for one of the region’s leading carriers, connecting nonstop to 30 cities in 12 countries by mid-2026.
Departures still check in at the original terminal building, through 122 counters — up from 82 before the 2022 expansion.
Customs in the new Terminal de Llegadas runs inspection systems CEPA says can identify more than 13,000 substances, backed by body cameras, portable scanners and a robotic dog for security patrols.
Arriving passengers cross a 34-metre walkway from the passenger terminal into the Terminal de Llegadas, where lifts and two escalators move up to 5,000 people an hour toward Migration — one of 73 desks (34 of them new) that CEPA says clear most travelers in 30 seconds to a minute, getting them out of the airport in under 30 minutes.
The airport holds the Family Friendly seal: dedicated family lanes, breastfeeding rooms, play areas and adapted spaces. Of the new terminal’s migration desks, 16 are reserved for families; of its 64 pickup spaces at the kerb, 12 are reserved for families and travelers with disabilities.
