Getting around SOU
Southampton compresses the airport-to-rail transfer into 99 steps: the terminal and Southampton Airport Parkway are less than a minute apart across a footbridge with a lift, with no shuttle in between. The passenger building is equally compact — the airport says most of it is on one level, while its map places the lounge upstairs and nine gates beyond the same security search. Direct trains reach Southampton Central, where Red Funnel’s connection guide picks up the journey towards Isle of Wight ferries. The CAA counted 885,186 terminal passengers here in 2025.
