Stansted reads differently from most airports on a map: one rectangular terminal beside the M11, and the boarding gates in separate satellite buildings strung across the apron, tied to the building by the automated Track Transit System that the £1.1bn transformation plans to replace with walkable skylinks. We label the terminal and Satellites 1 and 2, whose names appear in the airport’s own announcements — Emirates keeps its lounge in Satellite 1; the third gate building is drawn but left unnamed because no official page we found names it. There is no station symbol to hunt for at ground level: the railway platforms run under the terminal itself, a two-minute walk from check-in. The official car parks ring the site in lettered zones, from the Short Stay squares beside the building out to JetParks beyond the Long Stay fields.
