Getting around VNO
Vilnius Airport is really two buildings split by direction, not by airline: Terminal A, the original 1954 terminal — its façade still carries Soviet-era sculptures of soldiers and aviators — now handles arrivals only, while every check-in desk and departure gate moved next door into Terminal B, a 14,400 m² building opened on 4 February 2025 and joined to the old one by an enclosed gallery. A dedicated train, simply called "Vilnius - Airport", covers the 4.3 km to the central railway station in about 7–8 minutes for EUR 0.80, one of the fastest, cheapest airport rail links in Europe. Through 2029, in honour of the 150th anniversary of composer and painter M. K. Čiurlionis, the airport is also known by government decision as the "International Vilnius Čiurlionis Airport". In 2024, Vilnius Airport served 4.8 million passengers, up 9% on the year.
