Terminal A
Vilnius Airport’s original terminal, built in 1949–1954 to a standard 1950s Soviet design — its façade still carries sculptures of soldiers, workers and aviators from that era. A new departure building went up alongside it in 1993, and ever since, this older building has handled arrivals only. An international design competition is already under way for its eventual replacement, targeted for completion by the end of 2028.
The airport’s railway stop sits by the terminal building, with stairs, a lift and a covered, lit footway leading in — the same walkway that also serves Terminal B.
Terminal A connects to Terminal B, the departures building, by an enclosed gallery built as part of the 2023–2025 expansion.
Free special-needs wheelchairs, restrooms for wheelchair users and lifts between floors are available on the arrivals side; passengers with special wheelchairs are moved to and from the aircraft by Ambulift vehicles (models EAU 1500 FLS and Thunderlift L).
