Passenger Terminal
Opened 22 March 2017 as a complete replacement for the old terminal, built as a public-private partnership at an investment of more than €300 million for its first phase. It covers 65,000 m², was designed for 5 million passengers a year in that first phase (8 million once a second phase is built), and opened with 30 check-in counters and 8 air bridges — the first jet bridges the airport had ever had.
The terminal now runs 45 check-in counters, up from the 30 it opened with in 2017, plus a 4 km automated baggage sorting system.
18 passport control points serve the single terminal. Liquids, aerosols and gels over 100 ml go in checked baggage; up to 100 ml they travel in one resealable transparent bag of up to 1 litre.
A dedicated PRM waiting area sits on the 2nd floor, Departures, near the main entrance — press the call button on the totem there and staff will come to escort you to the gate. Book with whoever sold you the ticket — airline, travel agency or tour operator — no later than 48 hours before you fly.
