Terminal 1
Ahmedabad’s domestic terminal, one of two passenger buildings on a site that also includes a secondary-traffic terminal and a separate cargo terminal. IndiGo and Akasa Air split their departures between here and Terminal 2 depending on the flight; Air India and Air India Express flew from here until 29 March 2026, when the airport consolidated both into Terminal 2 — check with your airline if you booked before that date.
Check-in counters are on the Ground Floor, in the departure area — the same layout as Terminal 2.
Standard security screening applies. Hand baggage is capped at 7 kg per passenger in a bag no larger than 55 × 40 × 20 cm, though the exact allowance varies by airline; power banks must travel in hand baggage, and satellite phones and drones are barred from both hand and checked baggage.
The free Inter-Terminal Shuttle runs 24 hours between the two terminals, picking up at the “Drop & Go” area by Terminal 1’s arrivals hall — follow airport signage or ask staff if it isn’t obvious.
Wheelchair assistance has its own desk right at the kerb of the Drop & Go point, Lane 1. The carriers with confirmed wheelchair service here are IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India; pre-booking through the airline is recommended, not mandatory, and a separate paid private-mobility service is also available.
