Do I need a visa to enter Serbia through Belgrade Airport?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the agreement between the country that issued your passport and Serbia — the airport does not publish a universal answer. If you have a connecting flight, check separately whether you need a transit visa. The airport points travellers to their airline or to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia for the current requirements.

What is “Call2gate”, and how do I find my gate at Belgrade Airport?

Since 18 June 2024 Belgrade has run as a “silent airport”: your departure gate is no longer printed on the boarding pass, only shown on the terminal monitors. It is announced 70 minutes before departure for narrow-body flights to the region, Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Africa; 90 minutes for wide-body intercontinental flights (except the Middle East and Africa); and 120 minutes for wide-body flights to North America. Keep an eye on the monitors as your departure time approaches.

Can I use the e-Gates at passport control?

Accepted Answer

Only if you hold a Serbian passport (age 18+) or a passport from one of the listed EU/Schengen countries on the ICAO PKD Master List — Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom — or a US passport. An ID card does not work; you need a passport. The average passage takes under 12 seconds. Everyone else uses the staffed passport-control booths.

Can I get a VAT refund on purchases at Belgrade Airport?

Only if you are a non-resident and your unused purchases total more than RSD 6,000 (VAT included). Ask the seller for a REF4 form and your original invoice at the time of purchase, get it validated by a Customs officer at the airport, then send the original to the seller by email to claim the refund — you have three months from the invoice date. The refund is paid in dinars, in cash or to the bank account named on the REF4 form.

How can I skip the queue at passport control?

Accepted Answer

Buy a Fast Lane voucher (€5) at the Information desk on the terminal ground floor — it is open 24/7. Show your boarding pass and the voucher to staff before passport control for priority access. It only speeds up that one checkpoint: it does not replace check-in, security screening or boarding, so still plan time for those.

Question 6

I have a connecting flight through Belgrade — do I need to go through security again?

Accepted Answer

Only if you are arriving from a country outside the One Stop Security (OSS) scheme, in effect since mid-2022. From an OSS country, you go straight into the transit area to the transfer counter between waiting rooms A1 and C1/C2, no second screening. From elsewhere, go up to the first floor, collect your new boarding pass at one of the two transfer counters, and go through security again before entering the transit area.
