Inside each terminal

Check-in, security, the station link and how to change terminals — verified against the airport's own pages.

Terminal 1

The single passenger terminal that runs Belgrade’s scheduled traffic: all 24 airlines in the airport’s own directory are filed under Terminal 1, from home carrier Air Serbia to Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and easyJet. The building shares its site with a smaller Terminal 2 annex — two shops’ worth of retail, no airline check-in — and its check-in hall still carries two large murals: “Flight of Icarus and Daedalus to Space” (1962, restored 2015–16) and a 1961–81 wall painting by caricaturist Zuko Džumhur near the border crossing.

Check-in

Check-in and border control both run through Terminal 1. Since 18 June 2024 the airport has run as a “silent airport”: your gate is no longer printed on the boarding pass, only shown on the terminal monitors, announced 70 minutes before departure for narrow-body flights to the region and Europe, 90 minutes for wide-body intercontinental flights, and 120 minutes for wide-body flights to North America.

Security

Departing passengers can buy a Fast Lane voucher (€5, from the Information desk on the terminal ground floor, open 24/7) to skip to a priority passport-control channel — it does not replace check-in or security screening. Passport control also offers e-Gates, but only to Serbian citizens and to citizens of the EU/Schengen countries on the ICAO PKD Master List, plus US citizens.

Changing terminals

Connecting passengers arriving from a country covered by the One Stop Security (OSS) procedure — in effect since mid-2022 — go straight into the transit area without a second screening, to the transfer counter between waiting rooms A1 and C1/C2. Arrivals from non-OSS countries go up to the first floor, where two transfer counters issue a new boarding pass before a fresh security check.

Accessibility

Passengers with reduced mobility should flag the need with their airline or travel agent at booking time, and no later than 48 hours ahead of departure; once at the airport, staff can be reached at the check-in counter of your chosen carrier, or over at the Information Service point. Marked assistance points sit at counters 100 and 400, and the airport can provide an ambu-lift, a boarding platform, apron vans and manual or powered wheelchairs. A dedicated PRM helpline runs +381 64 84 85 183, 9 am to 3 pm.
