Terminal 1
The main terminal, centrally placed between BER's two runways, built directly over the "Flughafen BER" railway station. It carries most scheduled and legacy airline traffic, plus a 9,000 m² marketplace right behind security.
Check-in
Ten check-in islands with 118 counters. Passengers with hand baggage only can go straight to security; fast bag drop machines are available for self check-in.
Security
Security areas 1 and 5 use CT scanners that let you keep laptops and liquids in your bag; control areas 2 and 4 still use conventional screening. Gates sit on levels E0, E1 and E2, reached through the central marketplace.
From the train & tram station
The "Flughafen BER" station is directly below the terminal on level U2, a few minutes from the check-in hall.
Changing terminals
Terminal 2 is about five minutes' walk away via the arrivals level (E0), a signposted route.
Accessibility
The free Mobility Service needs 48 hours' notice through your airline and same-day registration at a service point; 12 accessible parking bays sit on the T1 departures level (E1). BER was the first German airport to hand out the Sunflower lanyard for hidden disabilities, free at every information desk.

Terminal 2
A check-in and security building finished in 2020 but left empty until 24 March 2022, when it opened with Ryanair as its main tenant. It has no gates of its own: boarding happens through Terminal 1.
Check-in
Counters and self-service machines on level E0.
Security
A single security area on level E1, already fitted with CT scanners. From there you cross two bridges into Terminal 1's Plaza and North Pier to reach the gates.
From the train & tram station
No station of its own — reach it on foot from the "Flughafen BER" station under Terminal 1, following signs via arrivals level E0.
Changing terminals
Terminal 1 is about five minutes' walk away, and there is no dedicated driveway, taxi rank or parking directly at T2.
Accessibility
The Mobility Service desk is in Terminal 2 itself, and 6 accessible parking bays sit on the shared T1–T2 driveway (level E0).
