Getting around BRU
Brussels Airport is vertical before it is sprawling: one common terminal feeds Pier A and Pier B, the railway station occupies level -1 and the train platforms sit another floor below. Pier A is principally the Schengen side, with a separate T zone for Brussels Airlines flights to Africa; Pier B is reserved for non-Schengen traffic. Check the airport code as carefully as the gate — BRU is the airport at Zaventem, while Brussels South Charleroi (CRL) is about 50 km from Brussels and needs a bus connection from its nearest railway station. In 2025, BRU handled 24.4 million passengers. Most rail tickets already include the €6.90 Brussels Airport Supplement, the charge formerly called the Diabolo fee.
