BRU is easiest to understand as a stack attached to two long arms. Pier A extends from the northern side of Connector and handles Schengen gates plus the passport-controlled T zone; Pier B lies to the south and is wholly non-Schengen. Both return to one shared terminal rather than to separate Terminal A and Terminal B buildings. Landside, the levels do most of the wayfinding: departures are on 2, arrivals on 1, buses and shuttles on 0, the Brussels Airport-Zaventem station entrance on -1 and its platforms on -2. The temporary bus station sits about 100 metres from the halls along a covered route. This arrangement is why a missed pier does not require a shuttle, but a change across the Schengen border can still add passport or security formalities.

The shaded buildings are the terminals as they operate today, with names verified by us — the base map’s own labels can lag behind reality. Blue P squares mark the official car parks that publish a name; the dark square is the station.
