Getting around DXB
Dubai International has three terminals, and Dubai Airports is upfront about the one detail that catches travellers out: the Dubai Metro’s Red Line runs into Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, but Terminal 2 has no station at all — it is reached by bus, taxi or car instead. Terminal 3 is Emirates’ home and the airport’s largest, spread across three concourses (A, B and C) built to A380 scale, with Concourse A described by the airport as the world’s first and largest purpose-built A380 facility. Terminal 1’s Concourse D, a $1.2 billion building, handles the rest of the international carriers. Terminal 2 serves regional and charter airlines. In 2025 DXB welcomed 95.2 million guests, the highest annual international passenger traffic ever recorded by any airport.
