Hamburg has flown from this exact site in Fuhlsbüttel since 1911, and today it works as two terminal buildings joined by the Airport Plaza. The Plaza is not just a walkway: it holds the single central security checkpoint that both terminals share, on its Level 1, together with the airport’s own lounge one floor up. Terminal 1, on the map’s northern side, is the base for Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines and easyJet; Terminal 2, just south of it, is where Lufthansa checks in. Both terminals’ arrivals halls give direct access — lifts, escalators and fixed stairs — to the S-Bahn stop shown nearby. A separate, much smaller General Aviation Terminal sits apart from the two main buildings, well to the south-west, and handles private jets, propeller aircraft and helicopters away from scheduled traffic.

The shaded buildings are the terminals as they operate today, with names verified by us — the base map’s own labels can lag behind reality. Blue P squares mark the official car parks that publish a name; the dark square is the station.
