Getting around INV
Inverness is a one-terminal gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness, handling 821,139 terminal passengers in 2025. Loganair links it with Kirkwall, Stornoway and Sumburgh — island routes independently shown by the airport and the airline — while HIAL describes the wider network as a bridge to UK cities and international hubs. Its railway station is useful but not terminal-side: passenger services began on 3 February 2023, and the airport directs travellers along a signed, well-lit but uncovered path around the airfield perimeter. At the terminal itself, taxis wait outside, car-hire facilities sit inside, Inverness Airport Way joins the A96, and three named surface-parking areas wrap around the building.
