Getting around JAI
Jaipur International Airport, in Sanganer on the southern edge of the city, splits its traffic across two terminals with no shuttle between them: Terminal 1 carries the airport’s dedicated international carriers — Air Arabia, Salam Air, Etihad Airways and Thai AirAsia — while Terminal 2 is home to IndiGo, Air India, Star Air and Alliance Air; Air India Express and SpiceJet split their flights across both. If your connection changes terminal, budget for a taxi or app-based cab rather than a walk. Terminal 1 also carries the airport’s own tribute to where you’ve landed: a Heritage Wall of carved woodwork, traditional arches and coloured glass echoing the havelis and palaces of the Pink City — fitting for an airport that is, above all, the gateway to Rajasthan’s Golden Triangle circuit, with Amer Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal and the UNESCO-listed Jantar Mantar all a short drive away.
