Getting around LUX
Luxembourg-Findel is the only international airport in the Grand Duchy, and its single most useful fact rarely makes it into guidebooks: since 1 March 2020 Luxembourg has been the first country in the world with nationwide free public transport, and that includes the tram and bus stop right outside the terminal — no ticket, no tap-in, just board and go. The airport itself is one connected complex split into Terminal A, the larger building handling both Schengen and non-Schengen routes (the UK, Turkey, the UAE among them), and Terminal B next door for Schengen-only flights, reachable from inside without leaving the building. In 2024 the airport served more than 5 million passengers to over 120 non-stop destinations on 16 airlines, and it doubles as one of Europe’s top-ten cargo hubs, home to freight carrier Cargolux and to national airline Luxair.
