Getting around MUC
Munich Airport makes sense once you treat the Munich Airport Center (MAC) as the hinge between two terminal systems. Terminal 1 uses modules A–E, while Terminal 2’s main building holds gates G and H. If your boarding pass says J, K or L, you are in the T2 Satellite: walking there is not an option, so take the underground shuttle train for the roughly one-minute ride. The S-Bahn station sits beneath the MAC. Both S1 and S8 reach München Hauptbahnhof; choose S1 for the western corridor through Moosach and S8 for the eastern corridor through Ostbahnhof and Marienplatz. In 2025, MUC handled an officially reported 43.4 million passengers.
