Getting around NLU
Felipe Ángeles opened in March 2022 north of Mexico City, in Zumpango, State of Mexico — built by the Mexican Army’s Corps of Military Engineers in under three years to take pressure off the older Mexico City International (AICM), not to replace it. In 2024 Prix Versailles of France named it one of the world’s six most beautiful airports. Everything — check-in, security, arrivals — happens in one terminal building, with a landmark called the “Calendario del Sol” dividing its domestic and international gates. Next door, the TITT bundles the Tren “Felipe Ángeles” into Buenavista, the Mexibús Línea 1 into the State of Mexico’s bus network, and the only direct shuttle to AICM itself.
Into Mexico City
The Tren “Felipe Ángeles” reaches Buenavista in about an hour; the Mexibús Línea 1 is the budget route via Ojo de Agua.
