A £10 charge on every departing passenger aged 16 or over (free under 16), in place since 2007 to fund airport operations, investment and new routes. Since 1 January 2026, airlines and tour operators collect it directly when you book, so most travellers now pay it as part of their ticket rather than at a machine in the terminal.
