Tocumen works as a continental interchange: in June 2026, 76% of its passengers were in transit. Its two passenger terminals, T1 and T2, belong to one connecting complex and are also linked by an internal airport shuttle. For a Copa international-to-international itinerary, checked bags continue to the final destination and the connection does not require Panama customs or immigration. Landside, the airport station is on a branch of Metro Line 2 rather than inside either terminal; an exterior airport shuttle calls at T1, Estación Aeropuerto and T2. Always confirm the departure terminal with your airline before choosing where to be dropped off.
