Terminal 1

The terminal with the longest carrier list by the official count — 14 airlines including Turkish Airlines, LOT, TUI fly and Smartwings — handling both departures and arrivals. Its check-in counters are numbered in the 100s (counter 125 is a Terminal 1 example the airport itself gives).

Check-in

Monitors at the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 entrances, and at the S-Bahn entrances, show which terminal your flight checks in at; every level of the airport is directly connected to the others.

Changing terminals

All levels are directly connected to each other — the information desk in Terminal 3 (Departures level) can also help if a monitor is not in view.

Accessibility

Taxis stop directly in front of Terminal 1, Arrivals Level 2. A free change machine for luggage-trolley deposits stands in front of Terminal 1, Departures level.

Terminal 2

Departures only, by the airport’s own facts page — KLM, vueling and both Wizz Air brands check in here. It is also where the Smart Lane security time-slot booking operates, open daily from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Security

The Smart Lane — a bookable time slot straight to the security checkpoint — is in Terminal 2, open daily from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Terminal 3

The Lufthansa Group terminal — Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian all check in here, alongside Eurowings, Aegean, Condor, SAS and Pegasus — with both departures and arrivals. It is the busiest of the four by carrier count, the base for Self Bag Drop, and the only terminal with a lounge: The Aviator Gallery, airside in the security area, open daily 5 a.m.–9.30 p.m. (subject to change).

Check-in

Self Bag Drop stations are at counters 320 to 329, Terminal 3, Departures — offered by Aegean, Condor, Eurowings and the Lufthansa Group (Austrian, Lufthansa, SWISS).

Accessibility

Free wheelchairs are kept at the Terminal 3 departures level Mobility Service counter, which also coordinates boarding assistance; a place of peace and reflection open to people of all faiths sits on the arrivals level.

Terminal 4

Handles both departures and arrivals — its check-in counters run in the 400s (counter 436 is the airport’s own example) — but the official airline list does not currently assign a scheduled carrier here.

The Stuttgart Airport Bus Terminal (SAB) — the hub for regional, national and international coaches — sits directly between Flughafenstraße and Terminal 4, beneath car park P14.
