Passenger Terminal
Tallinn has a single passenger terminal, renamed in 2009 after President Lennart Meri in honour of his role in restoring the Estonian state. It is run by AS Tallinna Lennujaam, wholly owned by the Republic of Estonia, which also operates four regional Estonian airports (Kuressaare, Kärdla, Pärnu, Tartu) and two airfields.
Check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 45 minutes before — some airlines charge a fee for a staffed desk. Self-service kiosks handle airBaltic, Finnair, LOT, Lufthansa, Norwegian, SAS, SWISS and Turkish Airlines, and the Self-Service Bag Drop area sits at counters 7–13, in the middle of the check-in hall.
Security is one floor up, just right of the check-in desks. Boarding passes are scanned electronically at an e-gate, five modern lines separate bags that clear straight through from ones needing a second look, and the 100 ml liquids rule applies. A single SEB Fast Track ticket (€9) buys one express-gate pass; it is free for Business/Premium Economy passengers and gold-tier airline cardholders.
The public transport centre sits at the northern, city-facing end of the terminal, reached from Arrivals by escalator, lift or walkway — trams T2 and T4 and the local buses all leave from there.
Tell your airline in advance, then report to the information desk in the departure hall or your check-in counter on arrival. To have an assistant meet you at the car park or a public transport stop, call +372 605 8788 (24/7) ahead of time, and plan to arrive at least 2 hours before departure.
